I am an experienced songwriter from Cleveland, Tennessee. All music listed on my site was written by me and performed by me, friends or studio musicians.


My musical journey began at the age of 12 learning guitar from my best friend Tommy Deane. 


I started my musical career with some friends forming a small group, The Good Guys, appearing on BASH a show that aired on a local tv network. 

Later, along with some new friends the group The Electric Hour Glass was formed.


In 2015, I connected with numerous music professionals, pitching my lyrics and songs.


In 2016, Tennessee Spring, I was assigned critical acclaim by NSAI, Nashville Songwriters Association International’s songwriters contest. 

In 2018,  Exit 10, Tennessee Spring and Baptize Me received reviews from Gerald Crabb, noted writer who has written 46 top 10 hits as well as 26 number 1 hits nationally.


In early 2019, Exit 10 and The Dreamer (Tonic and Gin) were entered in the NSAI, CMT and Martin Guitar and Strings song contest in Nashville, Tennessee.


“Leaving Macon” was a project with Lee Jordan, performed by Dirt Road Social Club, Monticello, Georgia and featured Ken Sanvidge on vocals. Tracks were laid along with vocals and introduced on social media as well as the FM airwaves.

On March 30, 2019, WYLB-FM in Livingston Al/Meridian Ms featured “Tennessee Spring” a song written by me featuring Lee Jordan on their Song Gallery program and podcasted worldwide.

On April 27, 2019, "Leaving Macon" performed by Dirt Road Social Club, featuring Ken Sanvidge was featured on WLYB-FM.

I have worked and recorded with many local, regional and international musicians/artists and have had my songs presented to numerous artist both domestic and international for recording considerations. 

Rob MacLeod, StartUp Music Mentors has recently completed an album of my POP/Easy listening music which will be available first in a few single then the complete album early 2020.

31st Street Sounds is a project band that was created to showcase my music. Gary Matheny Music and onTRAC Music Makers Publishing, controls the project.


31st Street Sounds will showcase different artist who occasionally will work with Gary Matheny Music either recording or doing vocals on my songs. 

Recently I won the "Most Promising Traditional Songwriter of the Year" award for Exit 10, through Volunteer State Country, Gospel, Bluegrass Music Organization, VSCGBMO, for 2019. This award elevates me to the North American Country Music  Association International, NACMAI, to be held in the spring of 2020, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

In October of 2019, I began working with DayStar Productions in Knoxville, Tn to produce an album. The first three singles have  been completed and the finished album should be ready early 2020. Singles will be sent to 300 radio stations throughout the US as well as SiriusXm.
